Circular Singing

WHAT IT IS
En-Canto Circular is a project dedicated to the development of body music as a means of human connection. Vocal improvisation and collective body percussion allow us to develop our own musicality while connecting us more deeply with other human beings.

In En-Canto Circular sessions, playfulness, joy and spontaneity are a fundamental part of the work. Through different games, we allow musicality to emerge, without pressure or pretension. In this way, creativity becomes a musical experience.

Beating the same rhythm together, harmonising our voices, looking each other in the eyes and smiling when we feel the vibration of the music makes us part of a unique moment, in which we understand that the world could be very different if we simply sang together as a means of socialising.

A fundamental part of En-Canto Circular is the circle experience. The circle helps us feel part of something, to be heard and seen, to participate horizontally in a community where each member counts, so that musicality enchants us, captivates us and helps us feel more connected.

ROOTS
En-Canto Circular is based on the technique developed by the Instituto Música do Circulo in Brazil, developed from Bobby McFerrin's Circle Song, the techniques of Fernando Barba and his group Barbatuques, the pedagogies of collaboration and the techniques of Non-Violent Communication. In this way, musicality and human communication become a reality through play.

FOR WHOM
En-Canto Circular is an activity open to anyone who wants to experience collective improvisation as a means of human connection. People involved in music or those with no musical experience are always welcome to join our circle.
